Just Waiting

Starless skies
sleepless nights
but I can't escape
to the saftey of the moonlight
and I sit here
waiting for the sun to stop crying its tears
wait for the light to heal broken years
wait for the night to let in the sun
wait for an absolution that may never come
just waiting
in the night of blackened hearts and weakened souls
yet I still can't escape night's deadness and cold
and people get used to darkness ; silent but bold
and I'm left here
waiting
with the tiniest little light in my eyes
as the darkness overcast all of the skies
taking hold of those weakened souls
and I still wait to escape the cold
waiting for a warmer hand to hold
just waiting
silent but bold
